“Lean is the belief that Waste exists in all processes”. Put simply, Lean is about taking what you do  successfully in your business and finding ways to do it Quicker, Cheaper, Better and Together, as a team.

Jigsaw Better Business have worked with over 1000 businesses across Ireland at all stages of their Lean journey and we have seen how Lean tools and techniques are helping companies address competitiveness issues and build the capability of their staff to identify problems and improve their operations. Through our Lean program, our coaches will equip you with a practical understanding of the various Lean tools and techniques that will help you develop an eye for identifying waste and focus on what adds the most value to your business.

The prime objective of a Lean organisation is delivering premium value to your clients while maintaining ZERO waste. Therefore, any Lean program facilitated by Jigsaw Better Business will focus on:

  1. Addressing competition by proposing a Leaner, efficient process that will reduce the cost of goods and services.
  2. Employee Engagement. Bottom-up ownership of improvement activities, employees drive change.
  3. Innovation – reducing time on wasteful activities and more time to solve issues for clients and improve offerings.
  4. Customer Engagement – Happier customers, improved value proposition.
  5. Uncertainty- Lean is key to ensure agility in the face of constant change.

Lean Support Ireland

Suppose you need business direction or support for your business or need external advice to improve your business. In that case, the IDA Ireland, Local Enterprise Office Network and Enterprise Ireland Support their client’s companies through several Lean programmes and initiatives. Our coaches can help guide you to which program best suits your business.

Lean for Micro

The Local Enterprise Office’s Lean for Micro programme is aimed at business owners/managers and key staff members of small businesses who wish to gain an introduction to Lean concepts and the positive impacts it could have on their business. Lean for Micro allows you to gain a practical understanding of lean principles such as how to identify and eliminate waste (any activities that do not add value to your end consumer) by undertaking a focused assignment with one of our experienced Lean coaches.

According to Stuart Nelson, Lean Coach and Co-founder of Jigsaw Better Business, “the Lean for Micro programme is much more than cash savings to small business owners. For many, it is about building a stable, secure, and sustainable business that is agile enough to face economic challenges. For many, it is about liberating themselves from Non-Value adding activities through questioning and redesigning their processes, allowing them to focus on business growth and Value-Adding activities. For many, Lean has given them the ability to get home on time, work less at the weekends while still getting the work done”.

A typical Lean for Micro programme consists of two half-day introductory workshops to get you up to speed with what “being Lean” means followed by 1:1 coaching where we will visit your company, assess your current processes, discuss the challenges faced by your company and collaborate in identifying an improvement project.

The Lean for Micro programme runs across all 31 LEO regions with up to 90% funding available.
